Roxbury Northfield (VT 12A)
ER STP 0187(13)

Project Location:  The project extends along VT 12A from about ¾ of a mile north of the Granville/Roxbury Town Line in Roxbury to the Northfield Village Limits for a distance of 9.6 miles.

ROUGH ROAD – VT 12A between Roxbury and Northfield has a gravel road surface.

Drivers are warned to exercise extreme caution on granular surfaced roadways in a work zone. Punctured tires and windshield damage could occur if material flies up from the surface of the road. Maintain a safe distance between vehicles and obey the speed limit. Should you experience damage to your vehicle while traveling through the construction project on VT 12A, contact Pike’s field office at 802-485-3539.

VT 12A will continue to be monitored for dust and potholes throughout the week and over the weekends.

Saturday, August 19, 2017 – Guardrail crews will be adjusting the height of guardrail in Northfield.

Week of August 21st, 2017

There will be several active construction operations within the project this week.  Expect traffic delays on VT 12A this week.

  • Tuesday (8/22), crews will begin a second reclaim operation north of Roxbury Village and progress north.  This process will mix cement dust and emulsion into the roadway leaving a compacted surface.  Crews are estimating it will take approximately 3 weeks to complete reclaiming.   The reclaim mix process is contingent upon favorable weather.
  • Driveway accesses will be maintained during the reclaim operations.

  • Crews will complete placing new stone material near Little Northfield Road.
  • Crews will be cleaning culverts in Northfield primarily.

Travel will be reduced to one lane with alternating one way traffic around all operations.  Flaggers will be present to assist in maintaining traffic flow.

Traffic – Traffic delays are expected this week.

It is illegal in VT to use any handheld portable electronic devices while driving. The law carries fines of up to $200 with points assessed if the violation occurs in a work zone.
